PwC is investing in the further expansion of its Operate business based in Belfast. This is an exciting time to join a high growth team, who are providing a range of services to clients. Operate will enable us to meet a growing demand from clients to help deliver large-scale implementation programmes – particularly those with regulatory, risk and compliance requirements. Our clients are predominately in the financial services sector, although other regulated sectors such as Utilities, Pharma. Oil & Gas are becoming increasingly prevalent.


As a Senior Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Directors and above
  • Be involved in the financial management of clients
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Develop project strategies to solve complex technical challenges for our clients

About the role

You will be responsible for the day to day management of specialist operational delivery teams. We are looking for an Operations Manager who will be an integral member of our Operate team, supporting the growth plans for a key part of our business. Working within a regulated environment, you will need to stay abreast of regulatory developments and future trends impacting the financial services sector.

Where will you be based?

The role will be based in Belfast; however as a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be asked to work in other locations within the UK and beyond, sometimes at short notice. Your desire and ability to do this will be discussed as part of the recruitment process. Candidates who are unable or do not wish to work on projects in other locations will still be considered and it is not a pre-requisite of the role.


Applicants should have these essential skills and experience

  • Solid proven previous experience within an operations / delivery role across a regulated or compliance agenda.

  • Proven ability to operate at a senior level and deal confidently with stakeholders (internally and externally)

  • Responsibility for managing large teams, understanding financial budgeting, billing and staffing.

  • The ability to mentor other members of the team and support their development; respecting and valuing all people and encouraging different perspectives

  • An adaptable mindset, specifically in relation to service delivery on behalf of a range of clients – often driving agile time critical solutions within heavily regulated environments

  • Extensive experience interpreting and implementing client policies across a broad range of industries

  • Managing relationships with key internal stakeholders Resourcing; Marketing; Operations etc.

  • Set performance and development targets for all staff, including strategy sessions with senior stakeholders to design individual objectives

  • Prepare and deliver key MI reports to the client’s specification, ensuring the delivery is consistent with overall project requirements
