Terex are recruiting for a HSE Manager to be based at our expanding Dungannon site. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global HSE function with a market leading organisation.

HSE Manager

The HSE Manager will support Terex MP Dungannon Operations’ Teams to maintain compliance with all relevant local, national and company requirements, to achieve their stated HSE Goals & Objectives and meet specified KPI’s for Terex Lost Time Accident and Injury Rates and Road Map Scores. They will Liaise with managers, supervisors and TM’s to ensure consistent compliance with all site HSE policies and procedures by all personnel and develop, manage and improve specific HSE programmes and activities, such as Statutory Inspections, Incident Investigation & Close Out, Exposure Monitoring etc.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the HSE Team in policy development, strategic planning, Zero Harm and HSE Roadmap development, address any agency compliance issues and keep updated with current legislation.
  • Prepare, implement, maintain and improve agreed Terex MP Dungannon HSE programmes to meet Terex MP Dungannon HSE Goals & Objectives and specified KPI’s.
  • Ensure internal audits are conducted in a timely manner, including…Audit and Inspect workplaces for health & safety hazards and environmental concerns.
  • Evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices for compliance with relevant policies and procedures.Report any HSE situations requiring immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation to the Operations Director.
  • Make recommendations to control or eliminate unsafe conditions in the workplace, injuries and illnesses and environmental concerns or liabilities.
  • Investigate and report incidents, accidents and near misses, report on statistics and monitor close-out.
  • Participate in HSE and site continuous improvement projects, working with TBS as needed.Contribute to the development and implementation of the HSE training programme.
  • Establish safety and environmental training and education programmes, meeting defined training needs and monitoring training completion.
  • Take Lead for Environmental improvements at site level.Schedule & manage emissions monitoring in line with Terex MP Dungannon licence requirements.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by Management.

  • Management of Health & Safety Council
  • Claims management
  • Risk / COSHH assessment updating
  • Safety project management
  • Incident management – Route Cause Analysis
  • Working with regulatory enforcement agencies / Insurance agencies
  • Environmental / safety auditing
  • Management of company set HSE Targets
  • Environmental monitoring & measurement

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety. Alternatively, equivalent qualification an Environmental, Health & Safety discipline.
  • Thorough knowledge of current Health and Safety & Environmental Legislation
  • Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001 systems
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 systems
  • 5 years Health and Safety Experience gained within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
  • 3 years management experience
  • Experience of industrial plant and equipment in a high volume production environment.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ level 5 or level 5/6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent at level 5 or above.
  • NVQ level 4 or level 5/6  Diploma in Environmental Management
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate
  • Train the Trainer Certification
  • Experience of sheet metal processing equipment.
  • Experience of paint pump, shotblast and hydraulic processes.
  • Excellent working knowledge of environmental legislation
