Human Resources Officer

The role
Basic Function:

  • To provide an efficient and effective HR service

Principal Job Duties

  • Co-ordinate the identification of training needs, and the development and implementation of the company training plan
  • Co-ordinate and issue performance appraisals on a timely basis
  • Handle first-level labour relations matters as required and provide HR support to all departments
  • Administer all HR and salary functions, together with fringe benefits as required
  • Develop and maintain integrated computerised HR and training systems, and necessary manual files
  • Prepare HR and training reports as required  
  • Administration of recruitment and selection process as required
  • Develop and administer procedures and policies for all HR functions
  • Assist with the implementation of the company health, well-being and corporate social responsibility strategies 
  • Practice good housekeeping and safety procedures
  • Participating in team working and information sharing
  • Comply with the Company Environmental Policy and requirements of the Environmental Management System both in normal and emergency situations
  • Other duties as assigned, including interchangeability with other HR functions

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification or CIPD Qualification
  • Minimum of one years’ experience working in similar role
  • Knowledge and experience working in all areas of HR, including payroll and benefits, employees relations, attendance management, learning and development and performance management 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
  • Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Teamwork skills
  • Good analytical, planning and organizing skills
  • Results focused, with ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft office

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience within an engineering  manufacturing environment
  • Experience in using PAMS,  NorthTime Pro and a learning management system, e.g. Totara
