Excellent opportunity for a Graduate Production Improvement Engineer based in Magherafelt.

SDC TRAILERS – GRADUATE PRODUCTION IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER

The role will involve working on projects running in parallel to production, primarily generating improvement projects based on analysis of production processes. The position holder will be working alongside production staff to increase efficiencies and help sustain quality with an increasing output.

Training & development will be a key feature of the role to promote understanding and implementation of Lean techniques whilst employing various Six Sigma methodologies within SDC’s Production departments.

Objectives & Key Activities

  • Support and assist the Continuous Improvement Manager on day to day tasks;
  • Base lining project scope, budget and schedules;
  • Tracking of projects, budgets and schedules;
  • Maintenance and control of projects, budgets and schedules;
  • Issue tracking, control and resolution plans;
  • Assist in Project Planning activities;
  • General Administrative Duties;
  • Development and maintenance of project documentation and office templates;
  • Development and alignment of internal business systems to the projects office;
  • Assisting in the preparation and management of work packages for sub-contractors.

Necessary Skills

  • Degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • MS office Skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint etc);
  • Motivated, positive, flexible, team player.
  • Ability to learn and develop at pace;
  • Excellent Organisational skills;
  • Excellent Communication skills;
  • Ability to work to multiple deadlines and milestones;

Desirable skills

  • Experience within a project/manufacturing environment;
  • 3D CAD experience;
