TITLE: Driver/ Car Valeter
RESPONSIBLE TO: Branch Manager
SALARY: £ 18,000 – £22,000
STATUS: Full Time, Permanent Post
The role of Driver/ Valeter is a vital role within the business, supporting the Branch Manager in ensuring the day to day operations, enhancing the company’s reputation for excellent professional service and making a positive contribution to achieving branch targets.
Day to day, you’ll be part of a team that is responsible for ensuring that vehicles are checked and cleaned to the required standards and available for rental use. This role will also involve the delivery and collection of hire vehicles to customers including the compilation of hire documents and ensuring that hand over procedures are carried out.
It will be essential that you maintain good communication with the office at all times to identify what time vehicles are required and to fully notify the office of any of damage and defects.
The Driver/ Valeter will be able to work under pressure, a confident and driven professional, driven to succeed within their role.
1.Ensure that all enquires are dealt with on the day of receipt
2.Attend to mail, fax messages, electronic mail and telephone calls on a daily basis
3.Deal with initial telephone enquiries from all sources in a polite and professional manner
1.Clean and valet vehicles inside and out to an exceptionally high standard
2.Deliver and collect a variety of vehicles in keeping with your licence entitlement
3.Inspect all new vehicles upon delivery and collection to ensure that any defects are agreed and recorded and signed by the customer
4.Where appropriate identify faults on vehicle and report them as necessary
5.Complete handover paperwork i.e. rental check sheets, ensuring details are accurate
6.Showing the customer around the vehicle and ensuring they know how to operate it i.e. location of light switch, indicator, fuel release cap, etc…
7.Carrying out checks on the vehicle periodically to check fluid levels, when service is due, for defects suck as bulbs, tyres etc.
8.Manage a busy workload
9.Manage daily operations, dealing with various issues that arise
10.Ensuring the delivery of excellent customer services, dealing with customer complaints
11.Attending various weekly/monthly meetings and preparing updates on progress in relation to these.
12.Effectively managing time to comply with duties and responsibilities
13.Updating computer system/ filing system as required
