Neurovalens is seeking a commercially astute accountant to help build out its finance and operational team. Our vision is to be the global leader in neuro-technology solutions, improving the lives of those who suffer from neurological issues.
Based in Belfast, we pride ourselves on being one of the world’s leading developers of new neurostimulation technologies.
We launched our first Modius product in August 2017 on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo with $2M of presales and have rapidly grown from a team of three in July 2017 to over 30 by December 2018.
Modius is a revolutionary neurostimulation device designed to help improve the lives of people who struggle with their weight by using neuro-technology to help make weight loss easier.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer this is an exciting time for an ambitious accountant to consider a career at Neurovalens, to lead on developing our finance, commercial and operational functions. Over and above a traditional accountant’s job specification this exciting role will include projects evaluations, operational improvements, new product development, grants and multiple external agency liaison. These are all necessary as we seek to move into a phase of rapid growth and significant scaling of the business. The company, its Board and Investors have ambitious plans to scale the business globally with a revenue target of $1BN in 5 years.
This role would suit both an accountant in industry looking a much broader role or newly qualified accountant with extensive finance, accounts, tax and grant expertise looking to gain industry expertise.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the following core responsibilities whilst adding strategic value and input across the business- nothing is off limits!
All applicant must be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). We will consider recently qualified candidates and also candidates from industry.
You will need excellent commercial and business experience together with board communication and presentation skills.
Experience using computerised Accounting software is essential and previous use of Xero, or Shopify would be advantageous (however this is not essential). Strong communication skills are essential together with an analytical and progressive approach to improving current operational systems and practices.
Candidates with experience/ working knowledge of finance and operations within health & well being or technology industries will be of considerable interest.
