Claims Handler – Belfast
9 months Fixed Term Contract
Applications are invited for the position of Claims Handler on a 9 month fixed term contract in the Claims department within the Riverside Tower location Belfast (Vacancy Ref: AXANI003/2019).
About the Role
The Claims handler will be expected to handle and settle cases in a timely, cost effective and customer focused manner.
Incident and Case Management:
Conducts desk-based incident and case management (notification, triage, investigation, fulfilment, negotiation, liability and settlement, payment, subrogation and salvage) within predefined authority limits and to predefined processes, procedures and escalation points
Contain claim costs by implementing agreed processes and deploying all resources effectively (system and technical resources, other teams, liaising with Third Party Service providers, customers, solicitors)
Deliver consistency in estimating, minimize leakage and fraud
Deliver excellent customer service
Deal effectively with referrals, escalations and complaints where appropriate
Participate in initiatives to deliver continuous improvement
Conduct effective Quality Assurance program activities to validate the quality of claims handling to deliver consistent claim estimating, minimising leakage and fraud, and adherence to defined processes.
Participate effectively in team reviews
Work closely with underwriters and the SBU’s to assist in improving the performance of our business
Full ownership and accountability of the claims you are involved in managing
Deliver agreed personal, team and business/company objectives, actively manage your own performance
Deliver agreed targets for customer service, settlement rate and recovery levels
Manage your own time and resources effectively
Be flexible within the role to undertake other duties as assigned by your Team Leader and participate in any designated projects (including cross-functional).
About the Person:
Customer service, sales and customer management
Methodical and structured approach to work
PC and system skills
Inter personal and Communications
High level of customer service experience and ability
5 GSCE’s Essential
ECDL, Cert in Insurance Desirable
