Introduction / Overview

Component Distributors Group is the largest wholesale distributor of vehicle replacement spares in Ireland. As part of our continued development we are currently recruiting for an Accounts Clerk to play a key role in our business. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established, dynamic and friendly team.

Purpose of the Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Controller, the Accounts Clerk will provide administrative support to the finance department by carrying out daily and month end procedures in a timely manner, helping to ensure ledgers are complete and accurate for reporting.  The main focus of the role will be the purchase ledger but will also include other tasks in the Finance department.

Job summary / Role and Responsibilities

  • Matching purchase invoices to delivery notes and resolving any discrepancies
  • Completing supplier statement reconciliations
  • Coding and entering transactions accurately on the ledger
  • Completing month end procedures and ensuring monthly processing deadlines are met
  • Assist in chasing payment for overdue customer invoices
  • Providing cover for daily bank lodgments
  • Other duties as delegated by the Finance Controller

Essential Criteria

  • Good communication and organizational skills are essential
  • Strong numeracy skills and a good attention to detail
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team and individually
  • Previous experience in an account’s office
