 Job Description

AGRO Merchants Group is currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner for our busy Lurgan depot.

About the role:

  • To work with the planning manager and other members of the planning team to ensure that every Job required for that day is planned in good time.
  • To ensure that each job is planned in the most efficient and viable way possible, which minimises empty running and maximises revenue.
  • To ensure that every plan is achievable and meets all legal requirements.
  • To ensure that the movements for each plan are entered into the system with map based planning, to include collection and delivery times, mileage and all empty running.
  • To Liaise with delegated customers to obtain weekly and seasonal forecast data, which will enable and improve forward planning.
  • To communicate and build relationships with customers and suppliers to plan collections and deliveries and to obtain weekly forecast data and data for seasonal peaks as directed by my manager
  • Interdepartmental working to ensure overall business efficiency and performance

Hours of Work: 45 hours per week per a rota basis to include 1 weekend in 3

About the person:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s to include Math & English
  • Computer literate, including all office packages (word, excel, ppt)
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to build and sustain successful business relationships
  • Understanding of fleet operations, drivers’ hours and operator compliance
  • Degree/qualification (CPC) in transport or similar field would be advantageous
  • Experience using Manpack TMS would be advantageous
