Excellent opportunity for a Shift Control Engineer based in Dundonald

Energy Trading Ireland was established as a licensed Demand Side Unit Operator in 2013 and trades in the Integrated Single Electricity Market in both N. Ireland and Ireland. Our control room is based in Dundonald, operating 24/7, all year round. As part of our expansion programme, the company seeks to employ an additional Control Room Engineer.

The Position: Shift Control Engineer

Applications are invited to apply for the position of Shift Control Engineer at their Dundonald site. This is full time permanent shift working position, on a rotating shift pattern. As a Shift Control Engineer your duties and responsibilities will vary, based on the Company’s requirements, but will include:

  • Monitoring and trading demand reduction and system services from client sites
  • Data logging, load forecasting
  • Problem solving and fault diagnosis
  • Managing Demand Response across all sites when ‘dispatched’
  • Working both individually and as part of a team

Essential:

  • Reliability and good time management
  • Ability to understand industrial processes
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to input, understand and analyse data with careful attention to detail
  • Be able to work on own initiative and with clear decision making
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable:

  • HND/Degree level in engineering or business
  • Previous control room experience
  • Previous experience working a shift pattern
  • Shift Control Engineer

Location: Dundonald

Salary: £22,000 – £24,000
