Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk & Compliance Consultant to join our Allstate Brand Operations Business area. This role will be Derry/Londonderry based.

Job Description

Support the administration of the Risk and Compliance program. Perform specialized technical activities related to compliance and risk processes.  Provide technical guidance, recommendation and implementation of process improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure the successful execution of the Allstate SOX and Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management program within ABO.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the end to end assessments of processes.
  • Execute the monitoring, testing, reporting and participate in assessments for ABO processes and controls.
  • Partner with the business and key stakeholders on identified findings (issues) and mitigation plans.
  • Support and conduct periodic training and provide consultative support to the various business areas.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with the business, strategic partners within the organization.
  • Communicate the results of testing and assist in monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements. 

Hours of work

  • Full-time Standard hours Mon – Fri; Flexibility to meet business needs as required

Essential criteria: Candidates should clearly state on their application form how they meet each of the essential criteria as these will be assessed during shortlisting and only these deemed to meet all of the below criteria will move forward to the next stage of the selection process

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business degree.
  • 2-3 years of knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas – Accounting, SOX, Risk or Compliance
  • Must have knowledge of accounting; Bank and General Ledger reconciliations and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Ability to work with highly complex numbers and detailed information
  • Excellent organization skills, analytical skills and time management skills
  • Computer Skills (SharePoint, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Access and Word) 
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a way that others can understand
  • Problem solving skills and ability to recommend actions
  • Must be an EU citizen or possess a UK Tier 1 visa which entitles the holder to take up full time employment in the UK and must be eligible to travel to the US.

Desirable criteria

  • BCPA or ACCA is a plus
  • SAP experience
  • Expanded knowledge of insurance industry and the outside marketplace preferred
