Following FinTrU’s announcement to create an additional 605 jobs, we have an exciting opportunity for a Part Qualified / Newly Qualified Accountant to join FinTrU’s established Finance team. This role will be based in Derry/Londonderry.

Following FinTrU’s announcement to create an additional 605 jobs, we have an exciting opportunity for a Part Qualified/Newly Qualified Accountant to join FinTrU’s established Finance team. This role will be based in Derry/Londonderry.

 

Reporting to the  Vice President, Company Accountant, the Part Qualified / Newly Qualified Accountant t will work closely with the Finance team, employees and managers to ensure effective delivery of all elements of the Finance function.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports
  • Month end related tasks to include balance sheet and P&L reconciliation, preparation and posting of journal entries and bank reconciliation
  • Provide oversight of the sales and purchase ledger functions
  • Assist in the preparation and tracking of forecasts and budgets
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Assist with the preparation and audit of the company’s annual statutory accounts
  • Preparation and submission of government grants, statutory returns and related audits
  • Provide oversight of company payroll function
  • Implement controls and processes to drive overall efficiency and maximise commercial performance
  • Assist in procedure development and implement process improvements within the finance remit
  • Provide support and training to junior members of the finance team
  • Ad-hoc financial reporting and other responsibilities within the finance remit as and when required

Required Experience

  • Part qualified accountant nearing completion of their studies or recently qualified accountants will be considered (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting roles
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Excel
  • A working knowledge of accounting software systems

 

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in an industry role with a good degree of commercial experience
  • Some tax planning experience would be advantageous
  • Experience with Xero cloud accounting system
