The post holder will lead and support the PCLA team of lecturers and administrative staff to provide exemplary, innovative and evidence-based education experiences.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Palliative Care Learning Academy, Somerton House, Belfast, BT15 3LH

Salary: Starting £46,460 and performance related remuneration

 

Job Outline

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the purpose of this role is to ensure the Palliative Care Learning Academy reaches its full potential by developing, expanding and introducing to market high quality, palliative and end of life education products which generate income for the charity whilst also fulfilling the charities object of sharing knowledge and furthering the development of the health care workforce knowledge and skills.    

The post holder will lead and support the PCLA team of lecturers and administrative staff to provide exemplary, innovative and evidence-based education experiences.  The role will focus upon supporting the broader NIH strategic vision and ambitions to become a world class leader of palliative care education and learning for health care professionals and others who support and care for infants, children and adults living with a life limiting and life-threatening condition.  

The post holder is accountable for the effective delivery of a best in class education and learning facility which reflects NIH values, and which contributes to the financial and commercial sustainability of NIH. The post holder is expected to build and maintain successful commercial partnerships with stakeholders actively seeking and securing opportunities to develop and sell palliative care education and research.

The post holder will have an understanding of the necessary steps to establishing a  new start up enterprise, prevailing market conditions and significant experience in identifying partnership and commercially viable opportunities, as well as creating successful commercial ventures in education. The post holder should also demonstrate effective partnership working internally and externally and effective management of resources.
