 Job Description

To ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, at all times and to supervise, train and motivate others with the key aim of delivering food to our customers in a timely fashion. Ensure you stick to all relevant legislation and good practice.

Position: Experienced Line Chefs for immediate start – paid an houry rate for all hours worked

Hours of work:  Full time = 40 hours and one part time position (part time = Friday and Saturday 12-12)

Location of work: Based at Laverys Bradbury Place but  will work at any site under control of Lavery Limited on the island of Ireland

Reports to: Head/Assistant Head Chef (During service report to senior Duty Manager on shift)

Job objective

Preparer, cook and present food quickly and efficiently. To ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, at all times and to supervise, train and motivate others with the key aim of delivering food to our customers in a timely fashion. Ensure you stick to all relevant legislation and good practice. Assist in maintaining a 5 star hygiene rating

Essential requirements:

  • Have a bank account in your own name
  • Be able to converse in English
  • Excellent skills in written English and Math’s
  • Have a fixed place of residence and live within a reasonable traveling distance of place of work considering travel when public transport is not available
  • Minimum of level 2 in food preparation
  • Valid level  2 food and hygiene certificate
  • Fire warden certificate/training

Desirable criteria:

  • ILM 2/3/4
  • NVQ 2/3 in hospitality related area
  • Valid first aid certificate
  • Level 2 health and safety training
  • Formal hospitality linked qualifications
  • Other formal qualifications

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and present food, quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards
  • Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy, at all times
  • Keep up to date with current promotions, club nights and new products
  • Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues
  • Maintain accurate food-­‐ordering and stocking levels, including all kitchen materials
  • Assist in achieving financial targets set for the pubs
  • Manage wastage through correct product measurement
  • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-­‐house training, attending courses andc ompleting workbooks
  • Always adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Be involved and contribute at team meetings
  • Carry out instructions given by the management team and head office
