Role: Belfast Met are seeking to appoint a Curriculum Quality Assurance Coordinator on a full-time temporary basis.

The College has made the significant commitment to invest in a brand new departmental structure which has pulled together 5 key areas to achieve integration across all learning and development services, for all staff, into one structure. The new Centre for Excellence, sits in Corporate Development and brings together;

  • Organisational Development
  • Staff Development
  • Teaching & Learning (academic staff) Excellence
  • Technology Enhanced Learning & VLE support
  • Curriculum Quality Assurance: responsible for Curriculum Quality Standards, Audit & Compliance functions

This multi skilled team will work within specialist functional groups to deliver key development outcomes for staff. However, the whole team will deliver a new programme of integrated services for the college to achieve synergy across the functions, enabling all staff to reach their full potential, and for Belfast Met to achieve excellence across individual, team and departmental level, to ultimately deliver excellence for our key stakeholders – learners, parents and employers.

This post sits within the Curriculum Quality Assurance team structure which comprises the Curriculum Quality Assurance Manager, Curriculum Quality Assurance Coordinator and the Curriculum Quality Assurance Officer. The team work to support and audit curriculum delivery teams to meet the quality standards of a range of awarding bodies and University partners and statutory authorities such as the Education and Training Inspectorate and Quality Assurance Agency.

What you need:

Qualifications / Experience

  • EITHER Have a qualification at a minimum of Level 6 or equivalent (e.g. degree) PLUS have at least one year’s relevant post qualification experience in providing effective advice and guidance on curriculum quality assurance matters to management OR Hold a qualification at Level 5 (e.g. HND) PLUS two years post qualification experience providing effective advice and guidance on curriculum quality assurance matters to management.
  • Experience of coordinating internal curriculum reviews, monitoring activities and preparing and presenting reports
  • Experience of presenting written evaluations and making recommendations and monitoring action plans.
  • Recent1 experience of working with ETI and/or other external standards bodies to deliver against defined quality and assessment frameworks and KPIs
  • Experience of developing and implementing management information systems and procedures for quality assurance and compliance standards within an education or training setting   
  • Recent2 experience of working with awarding bodies and/or partner institutions (e.g. university) and a sound understanding of assessment and internal quality assurance processes; preferably with multiple awarding bodies for example City & Guilds, Pearson BTEC, OCR or OCN
  • Experience of negotiation, consultation and influencing at a senior level to achieve results.
  • Excellent IT/Computer Literacy skills on all main packages, to include Excel and PowerPoint.
