ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mechanical Craft Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all equipment and the quality of goods leaving the area. Working to Management standards e.g. Health and Safety, C&E, Statutory regulations you will carry out a wide range of mechanical tasks including fault-finding and problem solving, responding promptly and appropriately to plant emergency and breakdown situations as well as routine maintenance tasks/repairs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be required to increase line efficiency by minimising unplanned line stoppages and aim to maximise the effectiveness of planned maintenance activities. You will ensure the highest standard of health and safety, hygiene and quality of goods regulations are met. On top of this, you will be looking at the future for the site and contribute to continuous improvement activities, so we remain the market leader.

You will have many stakeholders to manage who will all be working with yourself towards the achievements of the sites KPIs through production and quality focused operation and maintenance of the site equipment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

In order to be successful for this role, you must have the following…

* Candidates must have a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship.

* At least 3 years post apprenticeship experience in industrial maintenance activities, ideally within an FMCG environment.

* Numerate and literate with a minimum grade C GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, you will have PC skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Previous experience in the use and application of Computer Maintenance Management Software would be advantageous.
