 Job Description

Biomarker Software Developers provide support to Almac Diagnostics software development activities, maintaining and expanding bioinformatics programs/pipelines and design, development, release and maintenance of clinical trial assay reporting & delivery tools.

Hours: 40 hours per week

The role

Working as part of the Biomarker Software Development team based in our global headquarters in Craigavon, you will be responsible for providing support to Almac Diagnostics software development activities, maintaining and expanding bioinformatics programs/pipelines and design, development, release and maintenance of clinical trial assay reporting & delivery tools.

Please note that we will be recruiting at either the Junior Biomarker Software Developer or Biomarker Software Developer role.  Candidates will be assessed against the level of the role that is demonstrated on CVs and we would recommend that you fully familiarise yourself with the criteria before submitting your CV and encourage you to fully demonstrate how you meet the criteria required.

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to at least an BSc level in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Demonstrable computation and software development skills
  • Working knowledge of Server Operating Systems (Windows/Linux/Unix)

Desirable Criteria

(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exist)

  • Experience in shell scripting (bash/csh/ksh/powershell
  • Previous experience working within a quality system and/or software regulatory experience/knowledge
