SSE Airtricity in Belfast is looking to recruit an Accounts Receivable Team Leader!

Salary: circa £22,000 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus

Permanent | 38 hours per week

Our Role

SSE Airtricity in Belfast is looking to recruit an Accounts Receivable Team Leader. The successful candidate will lead the AR Team and oversee the prompt and accurate receipting of all payments into the business, including bank deposits, web/electronic payments, Direct Debit, Prepayment meter vends, cash and cheques. They will also ensure accurate processing of all payments onto gas customers accounts, resolve all payment queries in a timely manner and minimise customer complaints. Responsibilities will include but will not be restricted to:

-To manage the AR team to ensure they operate consistently in an accurate and compliant way to ensure timely completion of all AR processes.

-To ensure all cash files are processed on a daily basis with batches prepared for processing and payments updated to the system. Daily electronic download of bank statement and Worldpay card payments for processing

-To follow up on all exception reports where payments have routed to suspense account; to resolve issues preventing allocation to customer accounts and complete accurate transfer of payments

-To proactively manage the resolution of complaints and queries to customer satisfaction. Proactively liaise with customers by all available means to keep customers informed

-Ensure all daily and weekly departmental reports are followed up and all actions as required

-Ensure all refunds and transfers are completed in a timely manner. To ensure all paperwork is completed, filed and system records updated and maintained.

-To manage all payment processing at month-end and ensure all payments are update dated onto customers’ accounts prior to cut-off.

-To manage the updating and reconciliation of all Finance reports including Bank Reconciliation, Security Deposits, Suspense report, Refunds & Timing Difference. To liaise with Finance as required.

-Monitor and distribute all inbound communications received and respond within agreed timescales

-Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times to ensure compliance with all regulatory, financial and legal obligations

-Update weekly and monthly KPIs

-To forge good relationships and ensure good communication both internally and externally

-Manage the AR team through ongoing meetings, 1-2-1’s, Performance Reviews, PIP’s where required and ongoing support and training

-Management of the Department Diary to ensure adequate cover at all times

-Liaison with HR on all staffing issues as required.

-Provide a high standard of internal and external customer services at all times. To uphold company policy at all times and ensure staff operate in a safe and compliant environment

-To ensure good communication both internally with colleagues and departments and externally with customers, agencies and all stakeholder

-Attend internal and external meetings

Your Skills and Experience

-Minimum of 1 years previous supervisory experience in a compliance based environment

-Previous experience in a Finance/Banking/Customer Accounts environment along with knowledge of transaction processing.

-Understanding of compliance and adherence to policies, terms & conditions and regulatory obligations

-Firm understanding of Financial guidelines and General Data Protection Policy

-Strong Customer Service ethos and ability to operate at all times within the company Standards of Service guidelines

-Strong business reporting skills

-Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload to meet objectives

-Ability to create accurate reports & presentations including charts, graphs and visuals

-Deliver tasks in a professional and organised way

-Ability to handle difficult staff situations including with staff and customers with professionalism and a measured approach
