OVERVIEW

EM News have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Belfast Newstrade team who play an important role in supporting our business to deliver a world class service and time critical newspapers & magazines on a daily basis to our 1,900+ retail customers throughout Northern Ireland.

Reporting directly with the Night Shift Manager you will be responsible for ensuring our high standards within the warehouse are upheld whilst showing commitment to delivering your role with energy and enthusiasm. Whilst in the Warehouse our Drivers support our Warehouse Operatives to scan, sort and loading parcels to meet our efficiency targets.

When you’re not in the Warehouse you’ll be out and about delivering containers of Newstrade to businesses whilst at the same time ensuring all deliveries arrive on time and in perfect condition. And, always with a smile.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • This role will involve manually loading and unloading and delivering Newstrade to commercial premises
  • Scanning goods on and off and obtaining proof of delivery
  • All parcels are delivered to the customer safely, efficiently and on time
  • Ensure security of the vehicle and goods contained during transit to customer
  • Assemble customer supplies according to packing specifications
  • Break down, allocate and load inbound magazine supplies
  • Check the quality of packed orders
  • Keep the warehouse safe, clean and tidy
  • Complete all documentation as per company procedure
  • Adhere to company procedures and policies
  • On occasions our drivers are required to do publisher trunking

WHAT YOU NEED

You will need a full UK/EU driving licence and a sense of pride in delivering a great service to our customers.

You’ll be a positive ‘can do’ and hardworking individual that genuinely likes supporting colleagues, is able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and is comfortable working to strict deadlines.

Ideally, you have a previous experience of commercial driving and working in a warehouse environment, have a flexible attitude to work, an ability to prioritise and manage tasks in a pressurised environment. But, if you are light in one or more of these requirements we will provide you with full training.
