 Job Description

We are seeking a Trainee Construction Manager responsible for assisting with the management and administration of construction works, ensuring programme deadlines are met and the contract is finished to a high standard ensuring a satisfied client and an acceptable profit margin for the Company.


Dowds Group are a national mechanical, electrical and specialist construction with offices in Ballymoney, Belfast and London.  Delivering quality installations to a diverse range of clients throughout the UK and Ireland, with continued growth, we are keen to take on new talent to help us expand our operations.


Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful candidate will have the following duties:


  • Assisting project/contract managers and estimators with daily duties
  • Coordinating with project/contract managers and estimators
  • Gathering prices of materials
  • Gathering prices from sub-contractors
  • Ordering tools and materials
  • Compiling method statement and risk assessments
  • Checking and preparing site reports
  • Replying to enquiries
  • Assisting with works programmes and staffing lists and needs
  • General office duties


Essential Criteria

  • Significant Site Experience
  • Relevant Construction Qualification (i.e. HNC in Building Studies)
  • Good Technical Knowledge
  • Excellent Communication / Negotiation Skills
  • A Proactive Approach
  • Ability to work extended hour / weekends, as required


Desirable Criteria

  • Site Administration Experience
  • Valid CSR Card
  • IPAF 3a/3b
  • PASMA Combined
