Job title: Test Manager

Location: Novosco, HQ Belfast  

Responsible to: Technical Director

Main purpose of the job:  Sat within Technical Operations team, the Test Manager will have responsibility for delivering software and hardware solutions that meet the business requirements, and own and maintain the operational test strategy. The Test Manager will organise, plan and prioritise all the test resources, making sure that deadlines are met within the team. It will be the Test Managers sole responsibility to Management of UAT and OAT activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and co-ordinate all phases of testing, including UAT
  • Defect reporting and tracking
  • Development/implementation of suitable testing tools
  • Review test plans and test scripts
  • Create master test plans/test phase plans

Experience and skills:

Experience (essential):

  • Previous Test Management experience
  • Experience of Manual or Automated testing
  • Experience working large projects
  • Understanding of structured test methods
  • Knowledge of project methodologies e.g. Agile, Waterfall

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent Client management, liaison and strong negotiation experience
  • Clear written and verbal communication.

Additional Information:

Training: Internal training on products and services will be provided. However, staff are expected to consistently keep abreast of new developments, which would impact on their areas of responsibility.

Personal training in relation to this job description will be given as part of the company’s overall personnel development program.

Conditions of Employment:

Salary: The salary and benefits for this position will be determined according to the experience of the person appointed.

General Guidance: The nominal working week is 37.5 hours, although a degree of flexibility is both offered and expected. In specific circumstances there may be a requirement to work additional hours.
