Due to the development of services we are currently seeking support workers to work with children/young adults and adults with disabilities and challenging behaviour.
The Support Worker is responsible for delivering support and care to residents whilst embracing and further developing the life sharing model and ethos adopted by Glencraig. This position is for waking nights.
Salary: 5 point incremental scale commencing on £22,625 per annum based on FT 38 hours per week
Hours:Full Time, 38 hours per week.
NVQ Level II or equivalent (In the case of applicants who do not have an NVQ level II or equivalent but have 1 year’s relevant care experience this part of the essential criteria will be waived).
Basic Numeracy and literacy (English language) skills
Registered or agreeable to applying for registration with the N. Ireland Social Care Council
At least six months experience in a caring field
Be flexible to work on a rota basis that may include unsocial hours and weekends
Qualification in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences, Nursing or similar field
Experience in a health or social care setting
Experience of working with individuals with a disability
Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour
