New Product Development Technologist

As our growth continues, we are inviting applications for an NPD Technologist to join our product development team.  The role will be temporary for a period of 1 year to cover a maternity leave in the first instance.

Development technologist duties will involve;

  • Batching; Mixing; Labelling; Sampling Cooking; of samples for assessment (internally and with customer)
  • Recipe development, understanding what goes into development of new ideas, recipes and ranges
  • Generation and presentation of customer review documents
  • Innovation visits (targeted trips which are brief specific)
  • Category insight understanding
  • Customer reviews and presentations
  • Build and manage relationships with customers
  • Own and manage your own projectS – for which you will be the sole point of contact
  • Work on interdepartmental skills (in particular with commercial and technical for development presentations

 The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A third level qualification in a food science related discipline.
  • A minimum of one years previous experience in Product Development within the food industry with direct responsibility for launching food products
  • Experienced project manager with good track record on successful products launches in the food area and running factory trials
  • Excellent communicator with the visible passion and enthusiasm for achieving targets, objectives and continuous improvement in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience of building relationships with, and presenting to major retail customers
  • Experience in creating customers specifications and internal factory specifications
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage workloads
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
