Manufacturing Manager

Purpose of Post:

Lead all manufacturing engineering, encompassing development projects, providing superior technical knowledge. Responsible for providing leadership, outstanding people skills and management to a team of Production Engineers & Process Engineers. Responsible for installation, maintenance and improvement of production lines, managing contractors & line builds and ensuring that Health & Safety requirements are adhered to. Manage budget responsibility for the department. Implement and manage continuous improvement principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:



Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified to HND in Engineering Discipline OR Extensive experience of Leadership within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive Experience in an Engineering Environment
  • Experienced in problem solving techniques
  • Experienced continuous improvement activities
  • Staff leadership and development
  • Take ownership of process improvements
  • Computer literate
  • Microsoft Office
  • Auto-Cad
  • 3D Drawing Experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Team Player
  • Leadership
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Good communication Skills


Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering to Degree level.
  • HND in Mechanical engineering
  • Experience in a Coach building or Automotive Environment
  • Experienced Time study
  • Knowledge of fabrication/ welding technology
  • Knowledge of Tooling/ Jigging
  • Pro-E Experience.

Good timekeeping, attendance and disciplinary records are pre-requisites for this post.
