ABOUT THE ROLE:

At the International Supply Centre (ISC) we are the proud custodians of many of Diageo’s world famous brands; we have over 4,000 employees across 61 sites, 56 packaging lines and producing 26bn drinks annually. We produce 11 out of our 13 global brands (as well as many others).

The Engineering Safety Compliance Engineer will be a part of a dedicated team within ISC Engineering. This function provides a specialist technical resource which is required to cover and support all Diageo ISC areas and plants with extensive site visits.

The role holder will be assisting with supporting the development and reporting of safety compliance technical standards to ensure compliance internally and external facing. They will also be providing specialist input to capital expenditure and maintenance initiatives including, where required, third parties interaction across all areas of the business.

This role will ideally be based in Dublin, Ireland but you will be required to visit suppliers and other Diageo sites in Ireland, Scotland, Runcorn and Santa Vittoria, Italy to cover Brewing, Process Plants and Packaging sites in particular.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in leading and coaching the engineering community, ensuring knowledge of engineering compliance and guidance is delivered to Diageo ISC.
  • Responsible in delivering engineering assessments at sites and validation of core competence of third parties for legal engineering compliance areas within the purpose and scope.
  • Assist in developing engineering strategies for electrical and process control within Diageo ISC and Engineering Site Scorecards monitoring.
  • Assist in delivering capital expenditure projects relating to safety compliance for new equipment purchases.
  • Find and evaluate new engineering solutions and related information systems network communications areas and influence others to implement.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Qualifications:

  • Degree level in Electrical & Process Control engineering or similar with minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

or

  • HNC level in Electrical & Process Control engineering or similar with at least 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH)
  • Full UK clean driving licence

Experience:

The successful candidate will be extensively trained on the appropriate legislative areas. Examples are the following:-

  • Electrical legislation compliance HV / LV
  • Functional Safety (SIL)
  • ATEX / DSEAR and hazardous area inspections
  • Machinery safety (PUWER)
  • Lightning protection
  • Standardisation on electrical, control and instrumentation equipment
  • Process control safety functions
