Job Summary:

Woodside Logistics Group have an opening for a Business Analyst at our headquarters in Ballynure, Co. Antrim. We are a group comprising 5 individual companies operating in different parts of the transport and logistics industry. We operate throughout the UK and Ireland every day, and across the group we employ 500 people at our various sites.

In recent years, the volume of data being generated by our systems, vehicles and mobile devices has significantly increased. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable handling large amounts of data, and has a passion for solving problems and finding new ways to see a situation. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of the transport industry, and help to develop our approach to analysing and measuring our business. As a Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between Operations, IT and Finance. The ideal candidate will be able to work with each of these functions, and understand the interactions between them.

Practical experience of Microsoft Excel and an ability to interpret large volumes of data is essential. Prior experience in the transport industry is not necessary. Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee and distribute weekly reporting for each company.
  • Support operational management by creating appropriate reporting to aid decision making.
  • Interpret and present key data to senior management.
  • Assist in pricing decisions when bidding for new opportunities.
  • Liaise with support function departments such as Finance, Payroll, HR, IT, H&S, Workshop to ensure that their reporting requirements are met.

Employee specification:

Essential criteria:

  • A high degree of proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Commercial awareness

Desirable criteria:

  • A third level education. Qualifications in Accountancy, Finance, Economics or IT would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of SQL
