Job Title: Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Pilot Point, Belfast       

Responsible to: Development Operations Manager

The organisation is now looking to fill the role of an Azure Infrastructure Engineer, who will have solid experience in many of the following areas:

  • Azure PaaS

           * Azure SQL
           *Cosmos DB (optional)
           *Web Apps
           *Service Bus
           *Storage Accounts
           *Logic Apps
           *Azure Functions (optional)

  • Azure IaaS

          *Virtual Machines
          *Network Security Groups
          * Azure Site Recovery
          * Availability Sets
          *Traffic Manager

  • MS Windows Server [Server 2012/2016]
  • Linux; Bash
  • Design and deploy enterprise-scale, complex cloud infrastructure solutions
  • Security assessments
  • Defining architecture and requirements for SaaS and Hosting solutions
  • Scripting of scaling and deployment tools / Power Shell / Azure CLI
  • Defining automated regimes for backup, recovery, scheduled maintenance and process automation
  • Building, implementing and managing automated service monitoring, diagnostics, alerts, system management dashboards and service management processes
  • Identifying and configuring optimal usage of Azure resources such as computing, storage, bandwidth etc
  • Provide forwarding thinking on Azure direction

This is a senior engineer position, co-located with the Development Team with a significant focus on Azure to help drive and support our roadmap to ensure all software is fully cloud native.

Employee Specification


  • Azure experience to include 2-3+ years hands on practical knowledge in designing, deploying, maintaining Azure solutions on a day to day basis
  • Infrastructure as code – PowerShell scripting
  • Experience setting up monitoring and application performance management tools.
  • Security best practices


  • Docker; Kubernetes; Azure Container Instances
  • HA Proxy
  • Puppet; Ansible
  • Circumstances
  • Applicants must be flexible and willing to work additional hours when necessary.
  • A full, clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.
  • Applicants may be asked to travel to customer sites if required.
