Excellent opportunity for an Assistant Manager based in Belfast
Rathen Ltd owns and manages a number of SPAR branded Convenience Stores & Petrol Filling Stations, situated within the greater Belfast area.
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Manager.
As a vital part of the store team, you will be flexible and positive with a customer focused approach to all aspects of your work. You will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager to ensure the store is maintained to a high standard through the supervision and development of staff, and management of day-to-day operations.
It is the responsibility of the store assistant manager to provide effective and able back-up and support to the store manager, and in their absence manage the operations to help achieve agreed budgeted sales and margin, whilst properly controlling staff, stock, standards and costs.
Salary – Circa £22k per annum + Satisfactory Performance Related Bonus
1.To assist the Manager to ensure that the Company objectives within Company Stores are effectively and efficiently implemented, including the achievement of targets.
2.To provide effective team leadership and management to the store staff; ensuring all staff are well motivated and properly supported to achieve store targets and objectives.
3.To trade to the agreed store opening hours by assisting the Manager in recruiting, training, organizing and controlling the appropriate level and calibre of staff.
4.To exercise and ensure constant watch keep over Health & Safety, Security, Discipline and Due Diligence. Ensure the premises, fixtures, fittings and stock is safely and securely maintained in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
5.To assist the manager to organise and control replenishment of stock and ensure pricing is accurate whilst maintaining high standards of store merchandising disciplines at all times.
6.To fully operate the Company’s procedures in relation to ordering, receiving goods, stock holding and the control of wastage and stock loss.
7.To fully operate, enforce and monitor the Company’s procedures in relation to cash management and security.
8.To enforce and monitor the systems and standards of housekeeping, hygiene and other staff welfare practices within the store.
9.To assist the manager to ensure all staff’s training needs are identified and subsequently given comprehensive training and support.
10.To ensure discipline and standards are maintained in the store in a fair and consistent manner; developing an open and co-operative culture, to help build and develop a culture of continuous improvement towards all store activity.
11.To establish regular communication with staff in order to promote involvement and achieve good employee relations and provide regular feedback to staff.
To carry out any tasks or duties as deemed appropriate by senior management.
