Excellent opportunity for an Accounts Technician based in Belfast

With the increasing commercial vibrancy in the City of Belfast, the Club is enjoying a period of significant growth and now wishes to appoint a part-time Accounts Technician to join our team.

We are seeking a person to play a pivotal role in the provision of timely and efficient accounting information for the General Manager, Committees and Directors.  We require an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who will have a proven track record in accounts production.

Title: Accounts Technician

The role

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of accounts to trial balance stage;
  • Preparation of various accounting reports;
  • Payroll;
  • Reconciliation and banking of income;
  • Reconciliation and invoicing of credit accounts;
  • Preparation of VAT returns;
  • Account reconciliations;
  • Liaising with external auditors;
  • Other office administration duties as required

The successful candidate will be expected to possess the following:

  • Membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (or equivalent);
  • Experience of accounts preparation to trial balance stage, compilation of reports, stocktaking and liaison with external auditors;
  • A high level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism is essential;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally & written in English;
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of Sage Accounts and Payroll software, BACS and internet banking;
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word, & Excel;
  • Ability to work on your own initiative;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player;
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

This is an ideal opportunity for a person seeking part-time permanent employment in Belfast city centre. The position is for 25 hours per week (flexible) with a pro-rata salary of £25k (or £12.32 per hour) plus auto-enrolment pension.
