Accounts Assistant

PowerHouse Generation Limited (PHG) are a growing, dynamic company working in the energy sector and we are looking to recruit a full time Accounts Assistant. It is imperative that whoever takes this role is proactive, has excellent attention to detail and also has strong management capabilities to ensure the continued growth and smooth running of PHG.

Key duties include but are not limited to:-

  • Processing sales invoices
  • Reconciling sales ledger
  • Credit control
  • Processing purchase invoices
  • Assigning purchase invoices to correct accounts
  • Reconciling purchase ledger
  • Updating and maintaining our accounts daily
  • Reconciling and paying VAT to HMRC & Revenue Commissioners (ROI)
  • Processing month end closure and assisting in the production of monthly management accounts
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Preparing and submitting monthly PAYE and PRSI payroll for both NI and ROI
  • Producing ad hoc financial reports
  • Managing staff rotas and holiday calendars
  • Conducting new staff inductions and overseeing employment contract management
  • Managing office supplies

The successful candidate must have Sage experience and AAT qualification would be beneficial.

In addition to the above accounts duties, the role also includes general office administration and business support.

Prior experience in the accounting function is essential. The right candidate will display an excellent attitude and a ‘can do’ approach to their responsibilities, a desire and willingness to learn and the ability to work independently.

The nature of the job and the associated responsibility will change as the needs of PHG develops.

This will require a considerable degree of commitment, flexibility and adaptability of the successful candidate to meet quality standards and work deadlines.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria

  • 2 years experience of working in a busy accounts office environment
  • Computer Literate – Sage Line 50, Sage Payroll & Excel experience
  • Ability to manage own work plan and meet pre-agreed deadlines
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of accounting in a cross-border environment dealing with both HMRC and the revenue Commissioners
