The role holder will work within the Office of the UK Chief Financial Officer, which has the overall responsibility for driving the business`s forecasting process, developing focused financial insight and analysis and delivering all statutory, regulatory and external financial reporting thereby providing effective financial support to the UK management team.

The Finance Analyst will be involved in a diverse range of activities including delivering the Company`s statutory, regulatory and external reporting requirements. The role will also be involved in the review, analysis and interpretation of financial data.

The role holder will be required to work collaboratively with the UK Finance Business Partners, the Financial Controllers and the UK planning and forecasting team.

Key Responsibilities:

This is an exciting role best suited to a newly qualified accountant, offering the successful candidate a varied workload in a thriving and fast-paced environment. The successful role holder will be appointed to a Finance team whose key duties will include management and statutory reporting, business planning & forecasting, detailed financial analysis and ensuring adequate controls are in place. The role holder will need to work collaboratively across the BOIUK Finance function.

The role holder will have the opportunity to interact with a broad spectrum of colleagues across the entire Bank of Ireland Group.

Some of the key areas of focus include:

Main Duties

  • Involved in the preparation of daily and monthly management accounts and Board reports;
  • Preparation of statutory and regulatory returns;
  • Own and develop financial consolidation models, including various scenario analysis;
  • Demonstration of an ability to clearly and concisely summarise large volumes of data for reporting purposes, both actuals and forecast.
  • Analysis and identification of key trends in both actual and forecast data.
  • Provision of detailed financial analysis as required; and
  • Develop, improve and maintain policies, procedures & controls.

Management & Leadership

The successful candidate will be capable of positively influencing others, communicating effectively and working collaboratively as part of the UK Finance team.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated Financial & Analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of technical accounting application and financial statements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • IT skills particularly with regard to data analysis (Excel) & presentation (Powerpoint and Word).

Essential Qualifications:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant.
