An exceptional opportunity for a Senior Buyer or purchasing manager with strong sourcing experience to set up and deliver the sourcing function for a successful manufacturer. This role is exclusively registered with Grafton and my client will not accept CVS via any other agency or source.

Grafton Procurement and Supply, Belfast have partnered with an ambitious and successful Northern Ireland manufacturing company to recruit for a Sourcing Manager. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a Buyer, Purchasing or Procurement professional with a strong background in worldwide and low cost sourcing to set up and maintain a robust sourcing strategy that will support my client’s growth plans. You will be joining a home grown business who, 35 years ago, supplied only to domestic markets but have since grown substantially. My client now export worldwide and exports account for 45% of sales.

As Sourcing Manager will be responsible for handling the company’s end to end sourcing strategy. Reporting to the Operating Director and liaising with my client’s European and global distribution hubs, it will be your job to research, develop and implement a sourcing function to support the Belfast site and other worldwide operations. The successful Sourcing Manager will analyse spend and S&OP data and create robust supply chains that will reduce spend and maximise sales revenue while maintaining customer satisfaction. In addition you will identify new products and support the commercialisation of these to enhance the companies product portfolio. You will negotiate with suppliers to secure best price and terms of supply and maximise all sourcing channels including low cost and far regions. You will streamline sourcing functions across the business and keep abreast of market and competitor activity to maintain competitive advantage.

In order to be successful, you should be commercially sound with a strong sourcing background. A minimum of 5 years experience in a Sourcing Manager or Procurement Manager role in a SME or similar manufacturing business is essential. You should have a proven track record in sourcing to include implementation of sourcing strategies/setting up supply from Far East, India, Central Eastern and/or European Markets. You should be familiar with sourcing and vendor management software and have a good understanding of market dynamics. Strong project management and leadership skills and the ability to form meaningful business relationships is essential. Although not essential, a third level degree would be advantageous and preference will be given to candidates who are meeting the essential and desirable criteria.
