The Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology (CCRCB) sits within the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences.  CCRCB works with partners around the world in developing cancer treatments and pioneering advances in patient care.

The Technician will perform molecular biology techniques, biochemical assays and assist with in vivo work as well as establish and maintain cell line-based pre-clinical models for cancer.  In addition, this position will support the maintenance and efficient running of the laboratory.  This post is available for 6 months. 

The successful Technician will have:

  • A minimum qualification of ONC/OND and/or NVQ level 3 in a relevant health science subject (Biomedical sciences, molecular biology, medical laboratory sciences, related subject or equivalent.
  • 2 years relevant experience in biochemistry, molecular and cell biology techniques. 
  • 1 years’ experience with mammalian cell culture.

Anticipated interview date: Friday 9 November 2018

Salary scale: £20,836 – £23,334 per annum (potential to progress to £24,771 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
