Funds-Axis is a young, fast-growing Regulatory Technology (RegTech) business. We are currently seeking to appoint a new Regulatory Research Analyst due to company expansion.

The Global Exchanges service details the due diligence requirements on investment managers under the UCITS Directive when considering investing funds into foreign markets. Our UCITS eligible market reviews service covers 180+ markets in 90 countries including markets in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia.

The Global Disclosures service details the shareholding disclosure requirements which must be considered when investing in foreign markets pursuant to local regulation. This service provides comprehensive analysis of the global regulatory investment disclosure rules in over 60 countries – including major shareholdings, takeovers, dealing disclosures, short selling and foreign investment.

Role profile

The Regulatory Research Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and improving reports for clients on our information portals. They will also be responsible for researching, monitoring and producing news bulletins detailing the latest regulatory and market developments in the space.

Core tasks

  1. Conducting stock market due diligence reviews. This will involve examining different aspects of the market including broker rules, listing criteria and clearing and settlement requirements;
  2. Tracking daily market developments and publishing articles to the websites for client review and marketing purposes, including short selling bans, emergency market closures etc.
  3. Undertaking ad-hoc regulatory research into the implementation of EU measures in the fund space;
  4. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation surrounding UCITS and AIFMD;
  5. Participating in and on occasion leading staff internal training;
  6. Undertaking verbal and written communication with regulators;
  7. Ensuring delivery of excellent customer service, including maintenance of and delivery against the markets’ annual review schedule
  8. Other – Projects/other work as required

A high level of attention to detail and accuracy is essential and a knowledge of the Regulations (UCITS, AIFMD and Shareholder Disclosure requirements) is desirable.

You must have a minimum 2:2 undergraduate qualification in Law, Business, Finance or Economics and be willing to undertake further study as required.

Experience and skills

  • Essential: Degree in Law, Business, Finance or Economics, minimum 2:2; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Desirable: Regulatory experience (UCITS/AIFMD/shareholding disclosures); relationship management experience
