Excellent Package available – £23,000 – £27,000 plus strong overtime rate 

The Role

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager the role is to specify, cost and manage capital and revenue projects for the site on which they are based. To plan, organise and control providers of external engineering support where skills do not exist internally. The project engineer is also responsible for all environmental related issues for the site.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • To initiate and assist with the design, costing, justification and implementation of various civil and process equipment projects at the site. Experience in a food environment is preferable as the workload will be focused in this area.
  • Management of suppliers and contractors through all project phases including specification, tender, build, installation, commissioning and hand over.
  • Producing specifications for purchase and negotiating purchase contracts with equipment / service suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with updated regulations and legislation (including but not solely limited to integrated pollution and prevention control legislation
  • Review with Site Engineering Manager the energy management system to ensure we are achieving all specified targets.
  • As part of the Engineering team, document and investigate all environmental related incidents. Update Environmental impact register and carry out any environmental projects / studies as required.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will come from a similar background and will be looking for the next challenge in their career. Self-starting and motivated, applicants will also need to satisfy the following:

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level in engineering subject.
  • Have detailed engineering knowledge of modern food production processes in a continuous process environment.
  • Good working knowledge of associated disciplines including Project management, Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering and Food Safety.

The Rewards:

Excellent salary: £23,000 – £27,000 available for the right candidate depending on experience.
