Mahlatini Luxury Travel is looking for a passionate, organised and detail orientated strategic thinker to manage the travel lifecycle of Mahlatini’s discerning clients. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious operations professional to join a dynamic and award-winning team based in Belfast, but with a global client base. Mahlatini is uniquely positioned as the only Africa travel specialists in Ireland and has recently retained its crown as Winner of the Best Safari, Wildlife and Nature holiday company in the British Travel Awards.

The successful Operations Manager will work behind the scenes to ensure the smooth delivery of all aspects of our client’s trip. Working closely with the sales, finance and marketing teams the successful candidate will look to continually improve the efficiency and quality of all protocols and procedures to deliver error free engaging and helpful client documentation. Excellent problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail is required along with the ability to deliver excellent customer service to discerning and demanding clients.

Main duties:

  • Oversee the creation of high quality, error free client documentation.
  • Tasking, supervising and training the other members of the Operations Department to ensure that all departmental responsibilities are effectively met.
  • Working with the sales, finance and marketing teams to improve the efficiency, integrity and quality across all department outputs.
  • Working alongside the marketing team to:  Ensure synergy and integrity across all brand touchpoints. Provide event management support for trade fairs, exhibitions and client events.
  • Primary and secondary research to ensure the correct information is communicated to clients, this will involve keeping abreast of updated visa and travel regulations.
  • Project management: Lead the implementation of new back office systems involving and delivering key stakeholders’ requirements.
  • Helping to shape Mahlatini Luxury Travel as one of the worlds leading luxury travel specialists with exceptional customer service standards.

Personnel specification:

Essential criteria –

Mahlatini Travel is a trading division of Luxury Travel Ltd and provides 100% financial protection through its membership of both the Travel Trust association (U7098) and the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL T739).

  • Strategic, forward thinking and multi-tasking: A proven track record delivering process improvements in a customer focused environment.
  • Highly organised with a structured working practice with an ability to multi-task.
  • Quick to adopt and utilize new technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be a positive thinker who is always up for a challenge and is able to motivate and influence other.

Desirable criteria –

  • 2+ years’ experience within the tourism industry, ideally covering Africa.
  • Higher Education qualification.
  • An understanding of the travel supply chain.
