What The Job Is:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our team in Coleraine. This role is an immediate start. As a core member of the team you will be expected to work both individually and within the team to provide the highest standards of care to all patients and to provide and Occupational Therapy service working under the supervision of Senior Occupational Therapy Staff. We at First Choice will help you achieve this with continuous professional development and training.


What The Job Entails:

This is a diverse role and will include a number of key areas including:

  • To carry own caseload and be responsible for organising own workload in line with client’s agreed priorities, policies and procedures.
  • To carry out assessments, initiate and follow through appropriate treatment programmes, on an individual and group basis.
  • Liaise and exchange information, both informally and formally at case discussions, conference and with other disciplines and agencies.
  • To carry out home assessment visits as required.
  • Give support and advice to client/parents/carers/teachers where appropriate giving due regard to confidentiality.
  • To assist in the supervison of unqualified staff and students as appropriate.


What We Need From You:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Be registered or eligible for registration with the HCPC
  • Full Access NI check
  • Hold a current driving licence which is valid for use in the UK  and have access to a car.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Evidence of sound clinical knowledge.
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours as the needs of the service demands.


What We Would Like From You:

  • Experience, either paid or as a student in a community-based setting working with adult physical disabilities.


What We Will Offer You:

  • £11.21 – £17.94 per hour depending on shift.
  • A minimum of 28 days paid holiday’s (pro rata).

The Nitty Gritty:

  • Hours of work are on a rota basis including weekends and  holidays as required.
  • 24 Hour on call service that can be accessed for emergencies
  • Closing date of advertisement 01.11.18 @ 5pm
