The Company

Northern Group is a long established company with two main businesses within the group, Northern Lift Trucks and Norspace.

Northern Lift Trucks has been trading since 1985 and are a leading supplier of telescopic handlers, forklifts, loaders and excavators for the construction, agricultural & industrial markets throughout Northern Ireland. The business represents world leading brands Manitou, Gehl and Hyundai Construction Equipment.

Norspace have over 25 years’ experience in supplying portable accommodation and welfare solutions throughout Ireland, to a wide range of industries including the construction, hospitality and events, industries, to name but a few.

Both businesses have strong reputations in their respective market places and have grown through the hard work and commitment of a dedicated team of employees. Northern Group is now actively seeking to recruit a digital savvy Marketing Executive to assist the company in growing the awareness and reputation of each business within the portfolio.

The Position

This is a new position for a talented Marketing Executive who wants to take their career to the next stage within a company experiencing continual growth. Northern Group is offering a competitive package to secure the right person with standard working hours 8:30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. This role will be based at the company Head Office in Lisburn with travel required between each depots and client sites when necessary.


The Marketing Executive will be required to:

  • Prepare and execute a comprehensive marketing plan for both businesses in line with identifiable KPI’s.
  • Undertake a range of marketing activities to include but not exclusive to:
    • Online and offline advertising
    • Public relations
    • Search engine optimization
    • Search engine marketing
    • Content marketing
    • Social media marketing
    • Email marketing
  • Actively manage and update company websites on an on-going basis
    • Create relevant and engaging content to a professional standard
    • Undertake best practice SEO tactics for long term growth
    • Create a new blog and undertake relevant blogger outreach
    • Consistently monitor web analytics and action required updates
  • Execute a social media plan for each business using relevant channels 
  • Manage and enhance the brand impression and awareness for each business
  • Source and liaise with third party specialists including developers, designers, printers and photographers
  • Create and manage all marketing material in line with agreed brand guidelines
    • Use in house software to create professional adverts
    • Coordinate up-to-date image libraries for each business
  • Successfully manage a new marketing budget whilst achieving maximum return on investment
    • Negotiate best rates whilst leveraging strong brand positions
    • Provide measurable performance indicators to analyse the effectiveness of spending across each area of the budget from sales through to brand awareness


The right candidate must have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or similar
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a marketing role within the past 5 years
  • Strong competence and flair in the written language
  • Expertise in digital marketing
  • Access to a car that can be used for work

Salary £23-£27k dependent on experience
