The purpose of this role is to support operations teams within Belfast packaging to improve overall performance and standards through continuous improvement. To lead CI projects around Risk, quality, Productivity, Cost and Morale. To promote Manufacturing excellence within Belfast packaging.

About the Role

Belfast Packaging is one of two Beer Packaging sites within the International Supply Centre (ISC), serving approximately 130 markets worldwide. The site is based at Marshalls Road and is responsible for the production of Diageo packaged beer products in Ireland and beyond. Our main products include Guinness, Harp, Budweiser and Carlsberg which accounts for over 40% of beer volume within Ireland.

Diageo Belfast Packaging has undergone a period of significant change and volume growth. The implementation and sustaining of World Class Manufacturing practices which will be driven by the role of Manufacturing Excellence Lead is critical to driving the site to achieve its stretching performance ambitions.
This role will be focused on driving an integrated approach to continuous improvement across Belfast packaging, establishing robust Manufacturing Management Systems (MMS), working with operational teams to improve site performance by building internal capabilities and creating possibilities for teams to unlock new levels of performance.

Qualifications & Experience

The role of manufacturing excellence lead requires a wide range of experience and knowledge to successfully perform this role specifically:
* Knowledge of manufacturing excellence tools and techniques such as 5S, set up time reduction, Lean six sigma, reliability centred maintenance.
At least 2 years leadership experience in an FMCG Environment
* Knowledge of planning processes and optimising demand cycles.
* Working knowledge of SAP.
* Experience of coaching and influencing a range of stakeholders for success
* Knowledge and understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies (DMAIC, RCA, SPC)
* Intermediate project management skills.
* Ability to interpret and analyse extensive data sources to identify waste and cost saving opportunities, e.g. Informance, SAP,

Role holder must have significant experience in a process environment with a proven track record in managing people and or small teams, projects and cross functional team working
