Leakage Detection Technicians – Full Time/Permanent (40 hours)

Location: North Western & Eastern Areas

Salary (Dependant on experience and current role within the industry)

£18000 – £21000 /Annum

E McMullan Ltd work with several companies across the UK and Ireland, providing a wide range of Water Management, Surveying and Digital Data services.  We are currently seeking a number of Leakage Detection Technicians who wish to work within a fast growing and innovative company.

We are looking for well-disciplined, performance driven individuals with a good attitude to work, who have a methodical approach to their work and are looking to take their career to the next level.  This position is suited to individuals who are currently fulfilling a career within the water industry. 

Primary Duties

You will be working outdoors and will be required to carry out a full range of leak detection activities to include:

  • Detection of leaks using various leak detection methods including step tests
  • DMA Boundary Valve Checks and Zero Pressure Tests
  • Deployment, collection and analysis of flow, pressure and noise loggers
  • Resolution of customer side leakage

Required Skills, Knowledge and Characteristics

  • Professional attitude to work and good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to any change in work practices to accommodate company specific methods necessary to achieve various KPIs within contracts
  • Adhere to Management Structure and follow all Company Policy, Procedures and Directions
  • Target driven to contribute towards the achievement of contract objectives
  • Good numeracy and computer skills
  • A full clean driving licence
  • Ability to cope with the physical nature of the role including entry into confined spaces
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Be able to work safely and responsibly at all times
  • Ability to interpret water distribution network records
  • Flexibility in working hours to include some night work

Previous Experience

Leakage Detection Technician

A minimum of 1 years’ experience in some of the following is necessary:

  • Leading leakage detection activities including: evaluating water losses, planning and carrying out step tests, leakage sounding, leak noise correlating, deploying and analysing flow/pressure data loggers, IT experience to include a familiarity with GIS software, resolution of customer side leakage
  • Water Network management, including valving, installation of watermains, carrying out water network maintenance and repairs, IT experience to include a familiarity with GIS software
