The role

The successful HR Manager will be commercially minded, interacting on a regular basis with various key internal stakeholders, both locally and European, ensuring the HR service they provide genuinely adds value to the business.

As part of the local leadership team, the HR Manager will be responsible for the NI site, with around 200 staff, acting as a true business partner to the senior management team. Providing advice and guidance across a range of HR responsibilities, including performance management, employee relations, representing the company during audits, absence management, talent attraction and talent retention.

Change management will also form a key part of the role, supporting key business changes to provide a successful business outcome. Interface has a unionised workforce, therefore it is essential this individual is able to advise and support operational management with collective pay negotiations and consultations with trade union representatives to achieve effective and realistic resolutions of issues relating to pay and business change.

Talent Attraction and Talent Management is another key part of the HR Manager remit, driving successful recruitment programmes in line with legislation, to ensure Interface attract the best calibre of candidates in the market. It is also essential that these high calibre individuals are happy and engaged in their role, reducing staff attrition, ultimately contributing to a great company culture.

Supported by a small HR team, the HR Manager will support the EMEA and global HR team on various global projects, strategically pushing the business forward. Key projects include global performance management programmes, ultimately assisting with talent reviews and staff members growth plans within the business. Another example would be would be rolling out a Global engagement survey to support culture change, ultimately leading to a highly engaged and productive workforce.

The successful candidate

  • 5+ years’ experience working at HR Manager level within manufacturing
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
  • Proven track record working successfully working with Trade Unions or Employee Forums in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong NI/GB employment legislation experience
  • Extensive employee relations experience, in a heavily unionised environment
  • Proven track record of both operational and strategic HR experience, ideally within an internal manufacturing company
