HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ADMINISTRATOR

Full time/Temporary/Ref:  HSE/10/18

Base Location will be either Maydown or Garvagh depending on your preference

Overall Purpose of Role

Due to our continual growth we are looking to appoint a Full Time Health, Safety and Environmental Administrator to join our team for a temporary period of 6 months.  This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate who is looking for a challenging but rewarding experience with the Company.

This position will provide administrative support to the Health, Safety and Environmental team across the group ensuring that operational procedures, internal controls and regulatory requirements are carried out and all appropriate records are maintained and available to evidence.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Provide administrative support on day to day basis to support the long- term effectiveness of the Health, Safety and Environmental department across the group.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents / incidents and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Assist with Employee / Visitor /Sub Contractor Health & Safety inductions
  • Provide administrative support in the completion of both internal and external audits (environmental, Health and Safety and Compliance)
  • Preparation of documents for team meetings, taking accurate minutes and completing actions where appropriate.
  • Produce Monthly statistics
  • Ensure noticeboards, First Aiders are up to date
  • Issuing and Controlling Employee uniforms and PPE
  • Development of risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of the company ISO systems.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role, you should display the following:

  • At least ones years’ previous experience working within an Health & Safety and environmental department
  • Knowledge of either ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001
  • Enjoy working with people and display good interpersonal skills
  • Good standard of spoken and written communication skills
  • Recognise the importance of confidentiality
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • As this post involves travelling to other sites across the group (Belfast, Portadown, Maydown and Garvagh) it is essential that you hold a valid UK Driving licence (max of 6 penalty points)
  • IT literate – competent in Microsoft office suite, in particular, Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of internal auditing

While this is initially a Temporary role, there may be the potential for this post to be made permanent
