Job Description Title: Goods In Administrator

Department: Operations

Reports to: Materials Manage

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Goods In Administrator is responsible for the accurate receiving of materials in order to maintain integrity of inventory control and ensures delivery of materials/product to the proper department.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Receives Product Deliveries.
  • Receiving and registering materials into Epicor system using HandHeld device at point of delivery
  • Allocation of Kanban Cards from receiving rack and attachment onto parts accurately and efficiently
  • Escalating any Purchase order query to the relevant purchaser for quick and effective resolution
  • Scanning of all delivery dockets into central network location
  • Inspecting items for quality and quantity
  • Ensuring that all parts are correctly identified prior to request for removal to predetermined location by area material handler
  • Managing pick schedules (Despatch requests), liaising with material handling team to ensure this is done accurately and efficiently
  • Investigating stock discrepancies physically and within Epicor system
  • Stock locations – materials are managed to identified bays in yard/factory – Kanban cards
  • Stock control – to ensure that materials are not lost through control of issue and acceptance
  • Implementing improvements to the inbound process – Entering data into various reports for analysis
  • Complete any special projects as required. May be assigned to other areas of Operations, based on business or customer requirements.

HEALTH AND SAFETY:

  • Work in a careful and safe manner.
  • Report any real or potential safety/health hazard to the Supervisor.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the work area.
  • Report all accidents, incidents or near misses to the Supervisor.
  • Observe all legislated H&S regulations as well as established workplace safety procedures.
  • Cooperate with the Joint Health & Safety Committee in any Safety Program Review.
  • Complete any special projects as required. May be assigned to other areas of Operations, based on business or customer requirements.
  • Works in compliance with all Administrative, Health & Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Must have at least 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade C or above including Math and English.
  • Experience in dealing with supplier orders to meet production requirements.
  • Strong organizational, planning, research and negotiating skills are required.
  • Strong communication (oral/written) skills.
  • Be reliable, take initiative, and be able to work in a fast moving environment.
  • Experience within a manufacturing background preferable but not essential.
  • Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
