Diageo’s Procurement structure is a combination of global Procurement resources focused on developing world class category strategies and in-market Procurement resources focused on excellence in execution of category strategies and supplier performance management.

This role will be a part of the above global team, also called the category excellence team.

  • The purpose of this role is primarily to develop and deliver Sourcing and Category Strategies, transformational SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) and outcomes for the Flavors & GNS categories that optimise value delivery to Diageo.
  • The scope of the role includes the Flavors & GNS area of spend for all markets globally.

Top Accountabilities

  • Support the development of Global Category Strategies and lead the execution of sourcing solutions for Flavors & GNS via a proactive and flexible approach focused on excellent analytical insights that create and deliver possibilities and value adding opportunities for the business.
  • Negotiate contracts with key suppliers, will need to align with regions impacted for global contracts and ensure negotiated outcome and chosen suppliers meet their needs.
  • Support the development and maintenance of comprehensive intelligence and information gathering network via the Data Hub – maintain category cost models, databases, and market intelligence.
  • Proactively build a network of regional and local Procurement and Technical contacts with strong relationships through which key information, insights, opportunities and risks can be channelled back and forth across regions to drive value.
  • Collaboratively engage with the CPRM team to manage all commodity aspects of the categories.
  • Qualifications and Experience Required

    Qualifications:

    • University Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Sciences or equivalent.
    • Purchasing and/or Business qualification desirable (CIPS/MBA).

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years of procurement within a forward thinking, fast paced and value-adding environment.
    • Analytical, strategic thinker, strong business acumen, enthusiastic, tenacious and a team player.
    • Experience in direct procurement (ideally Raw Materials) or in the Raw Materials industry. Knowledge of commodities (i.e. wheat, corn, sugar) preferable.
    • High impact; confidence and some experience in communicating at senior stakeholders.
