Job title: Financial Controller

Location: Novosco HQ, Belfast

Responsible to: Deputy Finance Director

About us: Novosco was formed in 2007 from a merger with two leading ICT companies in Northern Ireland, Real Time Systems and 4sol Ltd with the Novosco brand name derived from two Latin Words, meaning ‘new understandings’. We have acquired other businesses since then, and are now the market leader in Ireland for Cloud services with a growing presence in the UK. We currently employ around 200 staff in total at the moment, with ambitious growth plans due to ongoing expansion in our market.

Main purpose of the job: We are now recruiting a Full Time Financial Controller to join our team. The Financial Controller will have responsibility for two of the trading Companies within the Group. This represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate to join a progressive team during a period of sustained growth.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the accounting function within the business to include, preparation of monthly management accounts for two entities (one in the UK and one in the Republic of Ireland);
  • Cashflow management for both entities;
  • Monthly Payroll Processing for two entities including PAYE submissions and compliance;
  • Responsibility for VAT submissions and compliance for both entities; 
  • Maintenance of Sage Line 200 Accounts;
  • Liaising with the company’s external auditors;
  • Contribute to further development of systems and procedures within the businesses; and
  • Lead the finance team to achieve the above.
  • In addition to the above duties and responsibilities the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances. Travel to other company sites may be required on occasion.

Skills and experience required:

  • Fully qualified Accountant and member of a recognised accounting body
  • Advanced knowledge or accredited professional training in SAGE accounts
  • Extensive IT skills and experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Desirable 

  • Industry experience
  • 3 Years Post qualification experience
  • Preparation of management accounts, submission of VAT returns
  • Payroll Processing
  • Experience of leading a team

Additional Information:

Training

Internal training on products and services will be provided. However, staff are expected to consistently keep abreast of new developments, which would impact on their areas of responsibility. Personal training in relation to this job description will be given as part of the company’s overall personnel development program.

Conditions of Employment Salary:

The salary and benefits for this position will be determined according to the experience of the person appointed. 

General Guidance:
