Located in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, Seagate’s Springtown facility employs over 1,300 people. Our facility is among the most advanced in the world in the design, development and volume manufacturing of recording heads. These are the microscopic devices which write information to, and read information from, the recording disc inside a computer’s hard drive.
Factory Support Technician (Ref: ITFS/184317)
The RHG (Reader Head Group) IT organization leverages best in class software development technologies to deliver critical solutions into our nano-manufacturing facilities in both the US and N. Ireland. The organization has resources in the US, Asia and N. Ireland.
Located at the Seagate Springtown facility in N. Ireland the role holder will be part of an IT Support team within the wider IT organization, supporting the manufacturing of the recording heads in a 24×7 environment. This includes installing and maintaining Factory PCs and Factory software, and executing processes to maximise uptime of mission critical IT equipment and software.

In addition to technical knowledge, the successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with problem solving capability and excellent time management skills.
The working hours for the role will be a 12 hour rotating shift pattern (4 days working 7.00am to 7pm, 4 days off, 4 nights working 7.00pm to 7.00am). A shift premium will be paid to reflect the hours worked.
Applicants must possess at least an ONC/D in a relevant discipline e.g. Computer Science and have at minimum of one years relevant experience in providing 2nd level support for PC/IT systems.
