EMPLOYMENT OFFICER

It is an exciting time for Stepping Stones NI as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary and seek to build on our success to date in our Youth, Transition, Training and Employment Services for people with learning disabilities and learning difficulties through the support of the European Social Fund with part funding from the Department for the Economy.

The Role:

Employment Officer will be responsible for sourcing work placements and paid employment for clients of the Employment Service. Working with employment and training staff the Employment Officer will be responsible for sourcing work roles appropriate to the individual needs of clients with learning disabilities and learning difficulties, working 100% of their time on an ESF funded programme. 

The successful person will have: 

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Experience in working and liaising with employers and clients in a job matching capacity.
  • Experience in MS Office including spreadsheets & databases.
  • Understanding of the issues/barriers related to employment and difficulty/disability.
  • Display evidence of the values and attitudes required to work with young people and adults with a learning disability/difficulty.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • A Full Driving License

Desirable Criteria:

  • A Degree or equivalent.
  • Foundation Diploma in Supported Employment.
