We are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for our client, a highly successful niche business, convenient to Antrim town and/or surrounding area. £33- £35k.

We are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for our client, a highly successful niche business, convenient to Antrim town and/or surrounding area.  This role is focused on working to deadlines in a highly pressured, fast moving manufacturing environment.

The Role:

The main purpose of the role will be to oversee and efficiently resolve any engineering issues which may result in delays to productivity schedules.  Key duties include:

  • Aid operators with any downtime issues which affect production including training on SOPs and new equipment
  • Oversee maintenance of all factory equipment
  • Proactive approach to engineering solutions, including short term temporary repairs and permanent repairs
  • Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products & parts
  • Recommend changes to increase production or improve standards, e.g. revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, etc.
  • Carry out all planned maintenance tasks in accordance with the planned maintenance system
  • Co-ordinate and integrate any new equipment into existing systems
  • Liaise with and co-ordinate the activities of relevant suppliers/contractors

The Person:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A qualification in an electrical engineering discipline OR be a time served engineer AND hold at least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or service sector
  • Preferably some experience of working within a manufacturing environment including a working knowledge of factory electrical maintenance
  • An adept trouble shooter/fault finder, exercising sound judgement and logical thinking, focused on results and productivity
  • A flexible approach to working hours

Salary:

  • In the range of £33/£35k pa

Hours:

  • There will be a requirement to work a shift pattern between peak months of May to September each year.  Each week you will be expected to work 2 days – 10.00am to 6.00pm and 3 days – 4pm to 12 midnight.
  • Office hours in the main will be worked the remainder of the year.  8am – 4pm or 9.30am – 5.30pm.
  • In the longer term it is envisaged that the role will revert to a Day Shift role (Mon – Fri), though it is important that candidates accept that the days/lates shift pattern will continue for the foreseeable future.

Training:

  • The successful candidate will attend a one week’s training course in England with the specialist machinery manufacturers.
