  • Own the Openreach Northern Ireland relationship with the statutory bodies in NI and ensure we deliver our obligations as a utility.
  • Working with the wider Openreach Northern Ireland  team to track and deliver on customer and budget performance

What you’ll be doing

As Contracts Manager, you’ll showcase interpersonal skills, business understanding and a positive attitude to  effectively manage all the third party suppliers working in Northern Ireland

You will:

  • Have responsibility for third party delivery to specified standards, quality and resource levels.
  • Actively working with the wider Openreach Northern Ireland team to understand the future requirements (forecasting) for third parties and to ensure our partners have sufficient ability to deliver.
  • Liaising with the Openreach delivery teams, and third party suppliers to implement appropriate interfaces to monitor work streams.
  • Identify and track benefits associated with cost transformation opportunities.
  • Implementing appropriate contract governance to ensure Openreach NI and our third parties comply with all our obligations and contractual terms.
  • Build and maintains effective stakeholder relationships to assure successful business performance.
  • Ensure that Openreach Northern Ireland apparatus has the correct legal protection for its future location on completion of any third party “works” in the Public Highway.
  • Ensure works instructions are written in accordance with local and National level instructions, in line with the requirements of the New Road and Street works Act (NR&SWA 1991), the Telecoms Act 1984 and in line with Ofcom regulations.
  • Ownership of customer escalations and complaints within target timescales while minimising costs to the Business.
  • Performance Leadership and Improvement of all direct reports and team, including raising every individual’s performance by using the skills from the Honest Conversations workshops, developing people and recognising success.

In the first 12 months you’ll be:

  • Owning and leading the Contracts team, working with the wider Openreach NI business to understand the future requirements (forecasting) for third parties and to ensure our partners have sufficient ability to deliver.
  • Implementing appropriate contract governance to ensure Openreach NI and our third parties comply with all our obligations and contractual terms.
  • Building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships with both our suppliers and statuary bodies.
  • Facilitating enablement across the organisation and operationalise our plans, ensuring the proposition is deliverable end to end.
  • Identify areas of opportunity for cost transformation, plan and implement the solutions.

  • Strategic thinker with proven experience driving daily concepts to deliver longer term vision with the ability to cut through barriers to bring real clarity and focus to delivering for our customers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and continuous change whilst delivering business performance
  • Experience in managing complex contracts/projects with end to end ownership and delivering challenging targets
  • Strong relationship skills including building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, numerical and analytical) with the ability to develop improvement plans in conjunction with suppliers and monitor their progress.
