About the role

 Commercial / IP / IT Lawyer – Full-time / Permanent – Flexible Location (Belfast, Birmingham or Leeds)

4+ years PQE or equivalent

PwC is seeking a talented and ambitious Commercial / IP / IT lawyer with over 4 years of post-qualification experience to join its legal due diligence team.  The role can be based in in our offices in Belfast, Birmingham or Leeds (depending on the candidate’s preference) and working closely with our London team. The role requires quality experience of working on due diligence projects, M&A/corporate support work (including advising on warranties and disclosure) as well as experience of negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts.  It offers the opportunity to develop and grow strong personal relationships with an exceptional base of new and existing PwC clients.

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:  

  • Ability to review, assess and advise on a broad range of commercial contracts utilising comprehensive technical legal knowledge, a forensic mind-set and attention to detail

  • Ability to advise clients on a broad range of legal issues across a variety of industries on commercial contracts, intellectual property and IT

  • Ability to identify key value items and to provide commercial legal advice in the overall context of the deal

  • Ability to supervise junior lawyers and paralegals effectively and to act as a mentor in developing their expertise and careers

  • Ability to build strong and lasting relationships with clients and other professionals at PwC

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and to thrive in a fast-paced deals environment

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Ability to use initiative and a willingness to embrace innovation and continuous improvement

  • Ability to harness new technology to deliver better services, faster

  • Clear, articulate and confident written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Hardworking and enthusiastic with a “can do” attitude

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction

  • Excellent academic background
